Our Review
Emma and David White once described themselves as corporate renegades and were known by their friends as 'wine chasers'. But no more. Emma 'retired' at the age of 40 from her career as CFO and COO of large multinational construction and development businesses and has enrolled in vini/viti courses, making international study trips focusing on new varieties for the Hunter Valley. In ’21, they planted (by hand) 1ha of shiraz, and intend to plant a further 5ha (the method of planting not specified). Wines are made in the old (and large) Lindeman's winery on McDonalds Road, where they work collegially with winemaker Damien Stevens. Their philosophy is to create wines that will truly tell the story of place and time, embracing vintage variation rather than seeking to hide it. -JAMES HALLIDAY
