So, what can you expect?
Your tour will begin in Paris with a welcome dinner on Sunday May 11, 2025. After spending a night in the city, you will travel to Champagne for a night, before heading east to Burgundy for two nights. After a night in Beaujolais, you’ll visit producers in the northern Rhône Valley on your way to the country’s gastronomic capital, Lyon, where the tour will end with a farewell dinner.
Philip Rich says:
"Every producer we’ll visit has their own story to tell – from Billecart-Salmon in Champagne, which was founded in 1818 when Nicolas François Billecart married Elisabeth Salmon – to Domaine Faiveley in Burgundy whose beginnings date back to 1825 and is now run by the seventh generation Erwan Faiveley – we will be visiting some of France’s greatest names."
"Then there's Jane Eyre – the Australian who has been working in Burgundy for 20 years. In 2021 Jane became the first Australian and first woman to be named Negociant of the Year by the prestigious La Revue du Vin de France."
"We will be eating (and drinking) at some of my favourite restaurants too. We'll dine at the humble farm to table restaurant, La Ferme de la Ruchotte, where Frédéric Ménage raises rare breeds of chickens and grows all his vegetables organically. And we'll visit the incomparable Georges Blanc in Vonnas, who has turned this small town into a gourmet village over the past 50 years."
What guests said about the tour
“For a person into wine and food, I would highly recommend the tour. We visited iconic, passionate winemakers and tasted amazing wine that I simply would not have had access to if I had travelled solo. The real value of the tour is Philip Rich's wine knowledge and his connections. And the food was spot on. It was diverse, everything from French Bistro to 3 Michelin Stars and delicious!” – J Tomlinson
“The tour was fantastic, the wineries and wine regions selected were excellent choices and our hosts were very down to earth and sociable. They made us feel like we were all a group of old friends very quickly.” – S Adams
