Our Review
Bill and Vicki Widin purchased the substantial 1960s-planted Brokenback vineyard in ’09, the original 50ha comprising semillon, chardonnay and shiraz. By ’13, they’d built a winery and cellar door – a suite of 20 luxury villas was built in ’22. Over time, they’ve added verdelho, pinot gris, gewürztraminer and tempranillo to the original vineyard. In ’16 Leogate purchased a 61ha certified organic vineyard at Gulgong (Mudgee) planted to shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Leogate acquired the Black Cluster vineyard in ’20. It’s predominantly planted to old-vine shiraz, with some semillon in tow. -HALLIDAY TEAM

The opulent cellar door is the perfect place to enjoy that unique taste that only the Hunter Valley and our award-winning wines can provide: smooth, rich chardonnays from wide-rimmed glasses, crisp and clear semillons of international renown, peppery earthy shiraz with a touch of leather and magnificently fruitful verdelho. All produced from the great vines of one of the most highly regarded vineyards in Australia.
From intimate fireside tastings in winter to relaxing alfresco tastings overlooking the ranges in summer, our knowledgeable and welcoming cellar door staff will make sure your visit to Leogate Estate is an experience to remember.
We are happy to accept group tastings; however, if you are planning to visit with more than 6 friends, please be sure to give us a call prior to your arrival to ensure we can accommodate you all in comfort and style…as is the Leogate way.

The Villa du Pays menus are thoughtfully prepared by our Executive Chef using only the finest ingredients, elegantly presented and served in fine dining style by our friendly and professional staff. Take advantage of the stunning views with an alfresco lunch or enjoy an intimate evening in our sophisticated dining room. A great place to enjoy a meal with friends or a romantic dinner for two.
