Our Review
It took some time for partners Susan Frazier and Adam Bell to find the property on which they established their vineyard over 20 years ago. It has a combination of terra rossa loam soils on which the reds are planted, and sandy flats for the white grapes. A trip to Portugal in '07 inspired the planting of Portuguese varieties, including touriga and arinto, alongside Hunter staples, shiraz and semillon. The partners have also established an olive grove and accommodation in the large house set in the vineyard, offering vineyard and winery tours. -JAMES HALLIDAY

Cellar Door
Information
Whispering Brook’s guests are offered unique experiences to gain a deeper understanding of the viticultural and winemaking process. Experiences such as 'Beyond the Cellar Door' include a tutored walking tour of the vineyards and olive groves, followed by an introduction to the winery and a tasting at the cellar door. The Olive Long Table Luncheon event for members and guests is a highlight each year and is held at the beginning of the Wine and Food Month in the Hunter in early June.

Whispering Brook Country House commands spectacular views of the estate's 25 acres of vineyards, olive groves and charming cottage gardens. The panoramic views are framed by sweeping mountain ranges. With so much natural beauty on your doorstep, you are invited to relax and unwind in the privacy of your own country house. Accommodation for larger groups, 10–18 guests.
