Our Review
The Tinja property has been in the Lowe family for 5 generations; vines were first planted here in the '70s. The 11.5ha of certified organic and biodynamic vineyards are unirrigated and untrellised. The focus is ‘gutsy’ red wine, from shiraz, merlot and zinfandel planted in the '90s – the zin producing what Ned Goodwin MW describes as Australia’s ‘finest example’. Fruit is also sourced from growers in other regions for the entry-level Dragonfly range. A Chef-Hatted restaurant (The Zin House), an extensive permaculture and market garden and a large events pavilion look out over scenic farmland. -JAMES HALLIDAY
