Our Review
In 2006 John and Dianne Stephens purchased this property and 1.2ha of previously planted chambourcin and verdelho as a retirement project. The vineyard is between Booral and Stroud on the way to the Barrington Tops. Alderley House was built in 1833 as part of a horse stud, breeding the horses ridden by the Australian Light Horse regiments in the Second Boer War and World War I. After various uses over the decades, it has now been returned to its original state, surrounded by English-style gardens. -JAMES HALLIDAY
