Our Review
Treasury Wine Estates (TWE), the renamed wine division of Foster’s Group Limited, was fully separated from Foster’s via a separate listing on the Australian Securities Exchange in May 2011. It has the full range of wine businesses: from those with a dedicated winery or wineries, household brand names and long-term grape supply from owned vineyards or contract arrangements, through to brands that have been stripped of their wineries and vineyards, but continue to have a significant brand presence in the marketplace. Those who fall into the dedicated winery/estate vineyards pattern are Penfolds, Wynns Coonawarra Estate, Seppelt, Devil’s Lair, St Huberts and Coldstream Hills. Other brands include Annie’s Lane, Heemskerk, Ingoldby, Jamiesons Run, Leo Buring, Lindemans, Rosemount Estate, Saltram, Tollana, Wolf Blass and Yellowglen. The rating is a simply recognition of the array of great brands that make up the vinous treasury of the group. All of this said, Penfolds is the ultimate jewel in the crown, with a greater brand value than all of the other brands combined. Exports to all major markets. -JAMES HALLIDAY
