Our Review
The wines made by Chris Ringland for his eponymous brand were at the very forefront of the surge of rich, old-vine Barossa shiraz wines discovered by Robert Parker in the '80s. As a consequence of very limited production, and high-quality (albeit polarising) wine, it assumed immediate icon status. The production of 120 dozen does not include a small number of magnums, double magnums and imperials that are sold each year. The addition of 0.5ha of shiraz planted in '99, joined by 1.5ha planted in '10, has had little practical impact on availability. Exports to the UK, the US, France, Germany, Spain, South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong. -JAMES HALLIDAY
