Cimicky Wines

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

The Cimicky property was originally settled in Lyndoch in 1842 by early German pioneers. Karl Cimicky purchased the property in 1970, expanding the vineyards and building the imposing Tuscan-style winery, which he named Karlsburg. When Karl retired in the ’80s, his son Charles Cimicky took over the business. The winery was completely refitted and, despite historically keeping an ultra-low profile, they produced a range of highly acclaimed red wines. In '18 Charles and Jennie sold the business to the Hermann Thumm Drive Property Partnership. -JAMES HALLIDAY
