Our Review
A new-ish label with a long history. Siblings Trent (winemaker) and Amelia (marketing) Burge are sixth-generation Barossans. Trent has spent almost two decades working in the family vineyards and winery, creating his Barossa Boy Wines brand; Amelia returned to the business in ‘19, also launching her own Amelia Burge Sparkling Wine range. Their shared enterprise takes its name from the family’s grand 1845 Corryton Park Homestead in Eden Valley. Sourcing is from the Burge family’s 300 hectares of vines in southern and central Barossa and Adelaide Hills, and a network of 20 growers as far-flung as the Coal River Valley in Tasmania. Their father, Grant Burge, plays a mentoring role, and the winemaking team at the family’s Illaparra winery is also acknowledged. -TYSON STELZER
