Small Gully Wines

Small Gully was founded by grapegrowers Robert Bader and Darren Zimmerman and winemaker Stephen Black (ex Barossa Valley Wine Estates). The trio built a winery on Darren’s Marananga property in ’02, situated in a ‘small gully’ on Roennfeldt Road. Darren and Robert have established superb low-yielding shiraz vineyards, while small parcels of grenache, mourvèdre and cabernet sauvignon are also acquired from local growers. Stephen’s sons, Joe and Charlie, focused on winemaking and viticulture respectively, are the 2nd generation to work with the label. -JAMES HALLIDAY
