Our Review
The ‘hands’ in question were originally those of founders Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz. Grapes are sourced from the Barossa Valley (where the business has 40ha of shiraz), McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, Eden Valley, the Adelaide Hills and Heathcote. The emphasis is on sweet fruit and soft tannin structure, all signifying the precise marketing strategy of what is a very successful business. In '15 Two Hands embarked on an extensive planting program using vines propagated from a number of vineyards (including Prouse Eden Valley, Wendouree 1893, Kaelser Alte Reben, Penfolds Modbury, Kays Block 6, Kalimna 3C), as well as a high-density 1.4ha clos (a walled vineyard) with bush vines trained to stakes, known as echalas, in the style of terraced vineyards in the northern Rhône Valley. -JAMES HALLIDAY

At Two Hands Wines we offer our guests a unique Cellar Door experience through a guided but relaxed tasting with our knowledgeable and friendly team at our home in Marananga in the Barossa Valley. Kraehe House, a late 19th century stone cottage with its adjoining bakehouse, is open for tastings and sales from 10am to 5pm, seven days a week (except Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day). With the state of the art interior complemented by the stunning tasting deck at the back of the building, our Marananga home provides a beautiful setting amongst the vineyards of the Western Ranges. Our Cellar Door experience is focused on offering visitors an intimate, informative tasting of the wines throughout our portfolio, from the Picture Series through to our Flagship Series wines. With the ‘Showroom Only’ wines and the latest offerings from the Twelftree range of Grenaches, there is always something new to sample.
