Our Review
With more than 50 years’ experience, John Vickery was the uncrowned but absolute monarch of riesling makers in Australia until, in his semi-retirement, he passed the mantle on to Jeffrey Grosset. Vickery, his most recent riesling venture, began in conjunction with Phil Lehmann, with wine marketer Jonathon Hesketh in the background. Respected winemaker Keeda Zilm (ex-O’Leary Walker) has since taken over the winemaking, working alongside John. Vickery is a member of The Usual Suspects collective of producers. -JAMES HALLIDAY
