Our Review
Stefano DiGiorgio emigrated from Abruzzo, Italy, in 1952. Over the years, he and his family gradually expanded their holdings at Lucindale to 126ha. In ’89 he began planting cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, merlot, shiraz and pinot noir. In '02 the family purchased the historic Rouge Homme winery and its surrounding 13.5ha of vines from Southcorp. The plantings have since been increased to over 350ha, the lion’s share to cabernet sauvignon. -JAMES HALLIDAY
