Prime Premium Wines

This is the business of Warwick, Jenny and Robert Prime, who acquired a block on the fringe of McLaren Vale township first farmed by the Aldersey family in the mid-19th century. The philosophy in choosing the block worked on the principle that the early settlers had first choice of the best land. The Prime family believes they made the right decision, the production from the 3.4ha of cabernet sauvignon, 0.5ha of shiraz and 0.2ha of grenache is contracted to Mollydooker Wines and finding its way to an enthusiastic market in the US. A very small amount of grapes is held back for the Prime Premium Wines label, and the quantity made will not exceed 300 to 400 dozen per year. -JAMES HALLIDAY
