Our Review
After a brief period of ownership by Brian Light, the former Merrivale Winery was acquired in 1997 by the Gerard family, previously owners of Chapel Hill. It has 30-year-old vineyards in McLaren Vale and in the distinctly different Bakers Gully district. Stephen Pannell, one of the foremost wine show judges, with an extensive consultancy business, and an intimate knowledge of McLaren Vale wine styles, has been appointed in a senior consultancy role to oversee the management of the vineyards and Tapestry's winemaking direction for the future.
