Our Review
When Dr Andrew Pirie, a pioneer of Tasmanian viticulture, first established Piper’s Brook vineyard in 1974, Northern Tasmania was considered too cold to sustain grapes. His success silenced the critics, and he subsequently founded Ninth Island and Pirie. While no longer associated with the brand, the name remains in honour of its founder. Pirie is today the premium sparkling brand of the Brown Family Wine Group, sourced from Northern Tasmania and ably crafted by Tom Wallace. -TYSON STELZER
