Our Review
Laurel Bank was established by Kerry Carland in '86 but deliberately kept a low profile by withholding release of most of its early wines. When the time came, Kerry entered the Hobart Wine Show in ’95 and won the trophy for Most Successful Tasmanian Exhibitor. These days, Kerry's daughter Greer is the extremely qualified winemaker, with a degree in oenology, vintages in Chile, Oregon and Burgundy under her belt and 12 years as senior winemaker at Winemaking Tasmania (now Tasmanian Vintners). She also produces wines for her own label, Quiet Mutiny, on the side. -JAMES HALLIDAY
