Killiecrankie Wines

John Monteath moved to the Bendigo region in 1999 to pursue his interest in viticulture and winemaking, and while helping to establish the vineyard from which the grapes are sourced, gained experience at Water Wheel, Heathcote Estate, Balgownie and BlackJack. The vineyard is planted to four shiraz clones, and is the backbone of the Bendigo wine. The small crop is hand-picked, with the resultant wines made in true garagiste style. Small parcels of premium fruit are also sourced from meticulously tended vineyards in Bendigo and Heathcote. -JAMES HALLIDAY
