Heathcote II

This is the venture of Danish-born, French-trained Flying Winemaker (California, Spain and Chablis) Peder Rosdal and viticulturist Lionel Flutto. The establishment of the vineyard dates back to 1995, with further plantings since of shiraz (with the lion's share of 2.7ha), cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, tempranillo and grenache. The vines are dry-grown on the famed red Cambrian soil. The wines are made onsite using hand-plunging, basket pressing and (since 2004) French oak maturation.
