Our Review
Ten Minutes by Tractor is owned by Martin and Karen Spedding. It was established in 1997 with 3 Main Ridge vineyards – McCutcheon, Judd and Wallis – all located within a 10-minute tractor ride from each other. Three vineyards have been added since: a high-density vineyard at the cellar door and restaurant site (organically certified in '04), the Coolart Road Vineyard in the north of the Peninsula, and the Main Ridge Spedding Vineyard, a high-density pinot noir vineyard planted in ’16. The wines are released in 3 ranges: 10X, made from estate-managed vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula; Estate, a reserve level blend; and Single Vineyard, from the best performing vineyard sites, usually a single block. In February '18, a fire destroyed the main storage facility at the cellar door and restaurant site, with over 16 000 bottles of wine lost (including a treasured collection acquired across 20 years for the restaurant cellar). The site was rebuilt, including a new private dining room and underground cellar for the restaurant, as well as a new cellar door and tasting room. -JAMES HALLIDAY

We are pleased to now offer a 'Terroir Masterclass' in our Private Tasting Room. Take a deep dive into the unique terroir of subregional Mornington Peninsula. This intimate experience, hosted in our private tasting room, will take you on an in-depth exploration of our vineyard sites and their individual characteristics. This is a rare opportunity to taste through a selection of limited-release wines. Our wine host will also provide an overview of our story, the history of the region and a detailed look at what makes the Mornington Peninsula the perfect place to produce cool-climate pinot noir and chardonnay. The masterclass will include two limited-release wines as well as a selection of six current-release wines.

The two-hatted restaurant is driven by provenance, with a focus on fresh regional produce from local growers, farm gates and their very own kitchen garden. This is synchronised perfectly with a wine list that provides endless opportunities for discovery and has been judged Australia’s best.
Five-course and seven-course tasting menus are available. Bookings are encouraged due to limited availability.
Allis Wine Bar is inspired by our love of wine and shared experiences. We feature iconic producers from around the world as well as a selection of rare back-vintage wines from Ten Minutes by Tractor. Guests can indulge in the à la carte menu or try wine flights, coupled with small snacks to complement each wine.
