Lake Moodemere Estate

Michael and Belinda Chambers are sixth-generation members of the famous Chambers family of Rutherglen, and Michael considers himself fortunate to have been mentored by grandfather Bill Chambers. The vineyard is dominated by shiraz (5.5ha), durif (3.5ha), together with chardonnay (2ha), riesling and merlot (1ha each) and a little cinsault and grenache blanc (previously thought to be Italian variety biancone).The cellar door has moved to the original homestead built in the 1850s (home to four generations of the Chambers family, including Bill and Michael), with panoramic views of Lake Moodemere. -JAMES HALLIDAY
