Our Review
Tom and Sally Belford have worked for vineyards and wineries in the cooler hilly parts of NSW, the Macedon Ranges and Heathcote, but the Yarra Valley is where they call home. Over the years, they have sourced most of their fruit from the superb Nenagh Park vineyard located on east-facing slopes on the western side of the Yarra Valley; ’22 marked the first vintage made at the new winery the duo built, allowing them full creative control. Alongside a portfolio of chardonnay, pinot noir, sauvignon blanc, cabernet sauvignon and syrah, they also source lesser-known parcels of fruit from neighbouring vineyards. The wines come as close to natural as possible, with whole bunches in an open fermenter, no crushing or destemming, no pigeage or pumping over, and no yeast. -JAMES HALLIDAY
