Towerhill Estate

Towerhill Estate was established in 1993 by the Williams family, who began the planting of the (now) 5ha vineyard of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, riesling and chardonnay. The venture was acquired by former sheep farmer Julian Hanna in 2007; he runs the estate vineyard in partnership with Leith Schmidt. The first vintage was in ’08, its Riesling from that year winning the Best Riesling trophy at the Perth Wine Show ’12; yet another testament to the skills of Robert Diletti at Castle Rock Estate. Since then winemaking has shifted to the nearer Mount Shadforth contract winemaking facility run by Mike Garland and Andrew Hoadley. Their wines are held back for release when mature.
