Robert Stein Winery
After 12 years tending to the family vineyard, Jacob Stein continues to preserve and build his family legacy, which began in 1976 when his grandfather Robert Stein and his family planted the vineyard. Developing a deep understanding of the growing conditions in Mudgee, Jacob has mastered the continental climate through his love of regenerative farming and viticulture to produce quality wines with distinct regional character for the family-owned and operated Robert Stein brand. Visiting the winery’s cellar door is the best chance to see the impressive wine offering. Pair a glass of riesling or shiraz with a charcuterie platter, showcasing the free-range Stein Farm produce from on site.
Located between the walls of the working winery, guests get to see the true winemaking process as well as marvel at the exhibition of vintage motorbikes and memorabilia. Or if you’re not the biggest motorcycle enthusiast, book ahead into one of Mudgee’s premier fine dining restaurants Pipeclay Pumphouse, housed on the grounds, to enjoy their seasonal, paddock-to-plate menu.
