Best whites wines under $30 in Australia
There are only a couple of weeks to go before we unveil the 7500+ wines tasted for the 2025 Halliday Wine Companion book and website on August 8. Ahead of the release, we're giving you a sneak peek of some of the top-value white wines reviewed by the Tasting Team.
There's a range of varieties here, with riesling from Upper Goulburn and the Grampians, sauvignon blanc from Mudgee and Denmark in Western Australia, a few pinot gris wines, a marsanne from Nagambie Lakes and a fiano from the Adelaide Hills. Priced between a mere $20 and $30, all of these wines deserve a place on your table.
Not sure where to begin? Click through to find the tasting notes for each wine and discover what you like best. Take the 2023 Clarnette Wines Riesling for instance, which Campbell Mattinson has scored 95 points and described as "both moreish and sophisticated". Or if you're after something a bit sweeter in style, try the 2023 Boydell's Pinot Gris, with its "flavours of baked pear tart" and "custard apple", as described by Toni Paterson MW.
So cheers to value and delicious white wine!
